We imagine a community where no one wakes up hungry and no one wakes up homeless. It’s an achievable dream when we all come together.
Each day, we work with some of the most resilient people in our community to help expand the scope of their empowerment.
We served 60,000+ meals this year through our Food Security & Nutrition Program, provided Housing support services to 440 adults and 95 children in our community, distributed 144 litres of milk each week to families in need, and provided access to free clothing and household items through The Boutique.
However, we are not exclusively emergency service provision. We also work with our municipal, provincial, and federal governments to strategically direct resources to needed areas of affordable housing, addictions and mental health supports, specifically where these three areas overlap.
We believe that upholding respect and dignity, and fostering empowerment are key determinants in supporting people’s journeys out of experiencing homelessness. Emergency services is our starting point, and a city that no longer accepts the inevitability of homelessness experiences is our end goal. We truly believe we can end homelessness in our city, and we invite you join us in that conversation/journey.
Each year, donors like you make it possible for us to accomplish our work. So it is with gratitude that we say thank you, and humbly ask for your support again this year.
Thank you, and Merry Christmas!
