5 Days for the Homeless is a major fundraiser held each year at the University of Regina in conjunction with the Business Student’s Society at the Paul J. Hill School of Business. 5 participants sleep outside in an effort to open the conversation about the causes of homelessness while raising funds for the day-to-day operations at Carmichael Outreach. We provide support to this event through delivering classroom talks about homelessness and poverty, participation in policy panels, and attendance at events.
This past year’s event generated $30,000 in funds, and stimulated one major community policy event held at the close of the event, as well as many other discussions on local solutions to poverty and homelessness.
MNP has shown tremendous commitment to the mission and vision of Carmichael Outreach, specifically in two ways. First, as the title sponsor of The MNP Tournament of Hope, they secure sponsorship, provide committee oversight, and help facilitate our major summer fundraising event. Their support, time, and effort helps make this tournament such a success. Secondly, they provide an audit of our finances each year, in-kind. These two commitments stimulate nearly $50,000 in funds raised for Carmichael Outreach and we are grateful for their on-going partnership and commitment to our work.
KSP Technology is the reason you can view this website. As a local IT business, they host our website in-kind and provide all of our IT support free of charge. Expanding our ability to communicate with our community is important to us, and that would not be possible without a functioning website and strong IT support. Their generosity and commitment to the growth of our organization is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
IQ Metrix is a local business that is one of the leading providers of retail management solutions for the North American retail industry. As a business, IQ Metrix supports Carmichael in two significant ways. First, they profile our events and day-to-day operations to their employees to provide us with volunteers throughout the year. Second, they have provided a $10,000 donation to Carmichael Outreach to be directed to our areas of greatest need. The flexibility of this donation allows us to allocate funds to areas of increased cost such as building maintenance, or to help enhance our existing programs and services.
